How much time is required for participants to achieve results?

According to the most recent Compass Investors (CI) Customer Satisfaction survey, 91% of all subscribers reported that they are able to make their reallocations "within 10 minutes or less."

In order to encourage the greatest participation, we offer a 50% discount to any participant with a plan balance of less than $10,000 at the time of enrollment for a period of 3 years.

As Action Reports are issued every five weeks, i.e., 10-11 reports per year, a participant can expect to spend less than 2 hours per year to achieve the full benefits of the Horizon™ service.

What tools are provided to participants?

CI has created a series of educational tools that help each participant clarify, understand and redefine what success should mean. The tools help each participant determine what periodic investments they must consider and how their resulting investment returns will enable them to achieve their short- and long-term goals. These educational tools are simple to use and allow sensitivity analysis to adjust for changing circumstances in each person's life and the economy.

  • The Horizon™ process itself consists entirely of web-based tools. The Action Report, Reallocation Process document and the accompanying Excel Reallocation Worksheet are all accessed via the CI web site. Subscribers enter desired reallocations using the plan frontend provided by the TPA.
  • Average Annual Return (AAR) Calculator™. Used to determine the true investment return of a portfolio, factoring out growth due to contributions.
  • Compass Investors Retirement Goal Calculator™. An Excel spreadsheet used to track a participant's progress against their Retirement Income Security goal. Provides participants with projections of their expected final plan value at retirement, and at what age Retirement Income Security can be expected based on their current investment rate of return, plan value and contribution level.
  • Compass Investors Estimated Returns Calculator™. Used to calculate the Horizon™ Model Portfolio return and compare it against the S&P 500 Index for the period between any two Horizon™ Action Reports.

How do participants get support?

Subscribers have access to a toll-free number to get help in using the Horizon™ analysis and tools and to ask any questions about the Horizon™ service. The number is answered between 8am and 5pm CST and messages can be left 24-hours a day, 7-days a week.

New telephone personal spend 3 months working side-by-side with experienced personnel to certify they can respond to any question related to the Horizon™ service. More experienced personnel are immediately reachable via cellular phone for any escalation issues.

Subscribers can find answers to frequently Asked Questions, submit support requests, and chat with support specialists on the CI web site.
